Pharmacy Services Accreditation Overview
The COVID-19 pandemic shed a light on the critical role that pharmacists play in community health and pushed the boundaries of care that pharmacists provide.
With that in mind, URAC developed its Pharmacy Services Accreditation as a validation of the quality of services that pharmacies are providing throughout the community.
Once you begin the process, your organization can be fully accredited in six months or less.
Modules
There are four modules in URAC's Pharmacy Services Accreditation program:
- Vaccine Administration Program
- Point-of-Care Testing Program
- Drug Therapy Management Program
- Community Dispensing Program
You can choose the module(s) that are right for your organization, so the accreditation reflects the exact work your organization does in the community.
Pharmacy Services Accreditation Benefits
With four modules to choose from, your organization can create an accreditation that is both meaningful to your current services and scalable when you add new services.
Benefits of URAC's Pharmacy Services Accreditation include:
- A modular accreditation that offers flexibility to pharmacies as they evolve over time.
- Enhances your pharmacy in competitive bids and RFP responses
- Improve quality of the pharmacy service(s) being offered throughout the organization
Who May Apply
To be eligible for URAC’s Pharmacy Services Accreditation, an organization must provide pharmacy services. Only the Community Dispensing module requires a pharmacy license. Organizations must be operating in the U.S.
