Congress and CMS have mandated and supported infusion pharmacy services in patients' homes and infusion pharmacy organizations that can validate their commitment to industry best practices will have a competitive edge in the marketplace.
To assure the highest quality care, URAC, the nation’s leading independent health care accreditation authority, offers two accreditations, which many organizations pursue simultaneously:
- Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Supplier Accreditation: Addresses infusion therapy for Medicare patients in the home. This accreditation includes infusion management standards.
- Infusion Pharmacy Accreditation: Addresses infusion therapy for all patients (except Medicare) and sites of administration. This accreditation includes infusion management and pharmacy options standards.
Once you begin the process, your organization can be fully accredited in six months or less.

Who May Apply
To be eligible for URAC’s Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Supplier Accreditation, an organization must provide infusion services to Medicare patients for administration in the home.
