March marks National Social Workers’ Month, a time to recognize the invaluable contributions of social workers who dedicate their lives to improving the well-being of individuals, families and communities.
The 2025 theme, “Compassion + Action,” recognizes that social workers in 2025 social workers turn their compassion into action to help our nation address a variety of societal challenges, including health equity.
From hospitals and schools to community centers and government agencies, social workers provide critical support to those facing hardships, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Their tireless efforts in addressing issues such as access to care, maternal and child health, addiction and mental health challenges make a lasting impact on countless lives.
URAC’s Case Management, Health Equity, and Community Health Worker Program Accreditations have been developed with social workers at the table to ensure their voices and roles in community care are woven throughout these important programs. URAC’s standards are designed to recognize and elevate the vital role social workers play in achieving better health outcomes for all.
